Frequently Asked Questions
Students who will be entering the 4th grade through 10th grade as of the Fall semester.
Students must have appropriate independent work skills and behaviors for high levels of academic activity within a loosely structured learning environment.
› How many classes can students sign up for?
As many as three and as few as one. All classes are 2 hours in length and students take each class for 8 days. They will receive 16 hours of instruction in any class they choose.
College For Kids uses credentialed teachers and provides an office staff to assist the teachers during the day. Also, Illinois Central College has campus security working throughout the school day to assist in safety on campus.

The cost for College For Kids is $70 per class, unless otherwise noted due to materials cost. Club CFK is an additional $55.00.

CFK operates for two weeks in June (June 14-24, Mon-Thurs) and two weeks in July (July 12-22, Mon-Thurs).

› What does my student do if they are there during lunch?
Students can either purchase a lunch card from our food services on the day of the first class, purchase a pre-paid lunch card with class registration, or bring money each day to purchase lunch. Students can also bring their lunch each day and all students eat in the supervised cafeteria. Lunch is from 12:30pm-1:00pm.
› Can students attend part of the week?
Yes. However, there is no reduction in fee.

› Can I cancel or change classes?
Yes. We do request cancellation be done three (3) working days prior to the beginning of classes to receive a full refund. Classes must be cancelled by phone at (309) 999-4550.
› What happens if a class gets cancelled?
If your class gets cancelled, an ICC staff person will contact you and try to schedule a new class. We will refund your money if a replacement class can not be scheduled.
College For Kids reserves the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment.
All classes are held at the ICC’s East Peoria Campus (1 College Drive, East Peoria). Classes are spread throughout. Exact classroom numbers will be given to students on the first day each session.
› What if I cannot pick my student up at 3:10pm each day?
College For Kids offers an after care program called Club CFK. Students will be engaged in games, art activities, computers, crafts, snacks and much more. Club CFK ends at 5:00pm and has a fee of $55.00.
› What if I am late dropping my student off in the morning?
Students that are late need to report to the CFK homeroom before they go to class so we can make adjustments to the attendance.
› What if my student will not be able to attend classes one day?
Contact the College For Kids homeroom to report all absences or early dismissals. The numbers are (309) 694-8880 or (309) 694-8890.
› What should I expect the first day?
An orientation is held the first day at the Performing Arts Center Auditorium. We will cover drop off and pick up locations and times, student expectations and other important information. Students will receive their student folder, lunch card (if they purchased one) and schedule if they need a replacement. Orientation begins 15 minutes prior to the start of each class on June 14 and July 12.
Parents/Guardians are asked and encouraged to attend orientation.
› What if there is a disciplinary issue?
Parents/Guardians will be notified of any disciplinary actions concerning their student. Continued disruption may result in the student being asked not to return. Refund will not be given.
